4 helpful tips for designing roller banners

11 September 2017

When you are at an event amidst a range of other vendors, you need to have something that will make you stand out, and for many smart businesses, roller banners are the perfect marketing material to do just this. Not only are they large and eye-catching, but they are also easy to transport and a great space saver.

However, the crucial element of any outstanding roll up banner is powerful design work that draws in your customers. So, to help you win more sales and reach more customers, here are four helpful design tips for your new roller banners.

1. Consider how people will read your roller banners

When it comes to absorbing new information, humans naturally read from left to right and from top to bottom. As such, there’s no need to reinvent the wheel and go crazy with the layout of your new roller banner. Stick to having your logo at the top and your brand name alongside or below it. Then have all useful information systematically working downwards from there in a clear pattern.

2. Think like a potential customer – prioritise your information

3. Your roller banner design should be consistent with your branding

To make your roller banner stand out, you need to use vibrant and powerful colours. However, this doesn’t mean going crazy with a mismatch of bright colours. Instead, use your existing brand colour scheme, but scale it up. The banner will complement nicely with your existing logo but still be eye-catching to passers by.

4. Think carefully about images, especially with print quality

Roller banners, by nature, are quite large, but this doesn’t mean you should go over the top with images. The purpose of your banner is to draw people in where you can then discuss and highlight the perks of whatever you are selling or advertising. If you want to use images to do this then, by all means, do it, but don’t cram the banner with them; one or two images should work well. Also, be sure to make sure they are of the highest quality so they won’t appear stretched or blurred on your final banner print.

Designing the ideal artwork for your roller banner is not a quick process but is instead something you should invest some time and care into. You also need to choose a top quality banner printing company who can deliver the final product to the highest standard, and that’s where we come in.
